ISO transition deadlines approaching!
As you may be aware, both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 were revised and re-issued in 2015, the deadline for updating your existing systems is September 2018.
What does that mean for you?
Each new version of the standard will completely replace the existing one.
If you have a certificate for ISO9001: 2008 and/or ISO14001: 2004 already, you will need to update your Management System to the 2015 revision before your certification becomes invalid after September 2018.
The updates also mean that each standard now seamlessly integrates with the another. That means that whether you have one, both or neither of these in place already, it is easier than ever to achieve a combined certificate through an integrated Management System.
Going forward, more ISO standards will be revised in the same way, including the forthcoming ISO 45001 Health & Safety standard due for release 12th March 2018.
Don’t wait
Many of the UKAS certification bodies are preparing for a very busy period heading into the September deadline, their auditing staff will likely be stretched very thin.
Waiting even just a couple more months could mean that your existing certificate will expire well before you can have it re-issued.
We here at Quality Improvements are on hand to help you through this transition, or indeed to help you integrate a new ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or integrated Management System into your business.
